The Eternity Code by Eoin Colfer (2003)
Read by: Nathaniel Parker
Artemis Fowl Series
Length: 309 pgs or 6 hours
Genre:???
Publisher: Hyperion/Miramax Books
ISBN: It doesn’t say on the audio book box
Cover Thoughts: Very apt. The cube I believe stands for the C-Cube.
Summary: Artemis Fowl is back! HE has since located his father now a morally good person. But, Artemis wants to strike one more deal, with American business man Jon Spiro. Tings are soon amok and Jon Spiro takes that cube. Artemis must now team up with Captain Holly Short to rescue the C-Cube.
Review: Its good. I highly recommeded this book to people who like hi-tech stuff from the future with a bit of fairy kick.
Recommendation: Read the book.
The Verdict: 4 stars

The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan (2009)
Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Book 5
Length: 381 pgs
Genre: Fantasy, Mythology, Middle Readers
Publisher: Hyperion Books
ISBN: 978-1-4231-0147-5
Cover Thoughts: The cover like all the Percy Jackson books is done by artist John Rocco and they look pretty cool. With the Empire State Building done in a very good perspective. I also like that Mr. Rocco never shows the face of the character allowing you to imagine what Percy’s facial features are.
Summary: The end is near for Percy Jackson and his friends. Kronos the King of the Titans is mustering his troops to battle the demigods defending Manhattan. Now Percy and many demigods risk their lives to save the gods and destroy Kronos. Even then the Great Prophecy is on Percy’s mind. Who will be the demigod to die?
Review: Positive stuff first. The book is quite solid. I liked the fact that Percy grew a lot, from a 6th grader to a 11th? grader. The way Rick Riordan writes has a distinct style. Its like James Patterson’s style, with the duhs and yeahs. I honestly can’t say if it is good or bad its all a matter of opinion. Rick Riordan’s chapters are much longer though. Now the cons. The humongous error that I complain about is the misspelling of Kronos it is actually Cronos. Was the editor half asleep while he or she was editing the book. Mr. Riordan was a history teacher before. So, that is bad, bad, bad for a history teacher to be misspelling a name of such importance in Greek Mythology.
But, the one thing that completely freaks me out is this part of the book.
“What did they do?” My voice sounded tight and angry. “What did they do to my city”
My City? That just sounds plain creepy. It sounds like Percy is some kind of wannabe owner of Manhatten.
Now the other thing I don’t like about it is the way Mr. Riordan depicts the fighting scenes. When you read them it is obvious that he hasn’t written a lot of fighting scenes. All in all this was a not so good ending to wonderful (up til now) series. 3.5 stars out of 5 stars or a 7 out of 10.
Recommendation: If you’ve read the other ones you have to read this. If you just start here you will be a tad confused.
First Line: “The end of the world started when a pegasus landed on the hood of my car.”
Recommmended Age Group: The book is pretty clean, but there is one kissing scene. About 9 years and above.

MAX By: James Patterson
The Legend of the Wandering King By: Laura Gallego Garcia Translated By: ???
I browsed Fragile Eternity By: Melissa Marr (drat, I never seem to spell her name right) at the book store even though everybody that’s read the book says “read the books in order in 1, 2 …)

Do you like this quote?
Love is the one bridge
Between the visible and the invisible
That everyone knows
Do not concern yourself
With explaining emotions
Live Intensely
And hold what you have felt
To be a gift from god.
If you believe that you can not survive
In a world where it is more important
To live than to understand,
Then give up magic.
You will never be mine,
And that is why I will have you always
